Day 1: Tokyo – Arrival and Rest

Morning: Pick up at Narita or Haneda airport, transfer to hotel by private vehicle.
Afternoon: Free time for rest or self-guided exploration.
Evening: Welcome dinner, overnight stay in Tokyo.

Day 2: Tokyo – Aomori (Shinkansen) – Experience Nebuta Festival

Morning: Travel from Tokyo to Aomori by Shinkansen (approx. 3.5 hours).
Afternoon: Join the famous Nebuta Festival, admire giant colorful paper floats paraded through the streets. Experience the lively festival atmosphere with traditional Tohoku dances and music.
Evening: Overnight in Aomori.

Day 3: Aomori – Towada Lake Tour

Morning: Visit Towada Lake – a peaceful, clear lake surrounded by majestic mountains.
Afternoon: Relax at Towada Park and enjoy the tranquil natural setting.
Evening: Return to Aomori, dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight in Aomori.

Day 4: Aomori – Yamadera (Yamagata)

Morning: Private transfer from Aomori to Yamadera (approx. 4 hours).
Afternoon: Pilgrimage to the ancient Yamadera temple by climbing 1,015 stone steps, enjoy views of quiet pine forests and the Yamagata valley below. This place was praised by the famous poet Matsuo Basho in his haiku.
Evening: Overnight near Yamadera.

Day 5: Yamadera – Ginzan Onsen Hot Springs

Morning: Depart for Ginzan Onsen – a historic hot spring town with Taisho-era architecture.
Afternoon: Walk along charming streets featuring stone bridges, lanterns, and streams flowing past traditional wooden inns.
Evening: Stay at a traditional ryokan, enjoy a Japanese-style dinner and relax in the onsen hot springs.

Day 6: Ginzan Onsen – Sendai – Urban and Culinary Exploration

Morning: Travel to Sendai – the largest city in the Tohoku region.
Afternoon: Explore Ichiban-chō street – a bustling shopping area with unique shops and cafes. Visit Aoba Shrine, linked to the history of feudal lord Date Masamune, and enjoy panoramic views of Sendai from above.
Evening: Try gyutan (grilled beef tongue), a famous Sendai specialty. Overnight in Sendai.

Day 7: Sendai – Matsushima

Morning: Depart for Matsushima – one of Japan’s three most scenic views, with hundreds of small green-covered islands.
Afternoon: Take a cruise around Matsushima Bay to enjoy the picturesque seascape and verdant islands. Visit Zuiganji Temple – a renowned Zen Buddhist temple in the area.
Evening: Overnight in Sendai or Matsushima.

Day 8: Sendai – Hiraizumi

Morning: Transfer to Hiraizumi – a UNESCO World Heritage site with ancient temples and Japanese gardens.
Afternoon: Visit Chusonji and Motsuji temples, known for their unique architecture and scenic gardens.
Evening: Overnight at a local hotel.

Day 9: Hiraizumi – Tokyo (Shinkansen)

Morning: Return to Tokyo by Shinkansen (approx. 3.5 hours).
Afternoon: Explore Shibuya district – experience shopping and discover Tokyo’s modern culture.
Evening: Overnight in Tokyo, dinner at own expense.

Day 10: Tokyo – Airport Transfer and Departure

Morning: Breakfast at the hotel, check-out procedures.
Private transfer to Narita or Haneda airport depending on flight schedule.

REGISTRATION & PAYMENT PROCEDURE:

TOUR CANCELLATION POLICY:

Cancel after deposit payment: 10% penalty of the tour price (no penalty if replaced by another person).
Cancel 30 days before departure: 30% penalty of the tour price.
Cancel 15 days before departure: 100% penalty of the tour price.
In case of natural disasters or epidemics, if no official Japanese entry ban is issued, the above penalties still apply.
Note: If you cancel but have a replacement guest, the deposit will not be forfeited.

OTHER NOTES:

Time calculation excludes holidays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
If you have family or friends residing locally who wish to join the program, please contact the company before departure.
Guests are kindly requested not to skip designated shopping stops in the itinerary.
Throughout the trip, guests must be punctual at meeting points to ensure the program runs on schedule.

THE TOUR COMPANY IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR:

Natural disasters such as storms, floods, droughts, earthquakes…
Security incidents such as terrorism, protests…
Medical issues including epidemics or guests’ personal health conditions.
Airline issues including technical problems, security, delays, or cancellations.
Denial of entry at the destination country.
